Biography
7 October 1970, Luton, Bedfordshire, England. Often compared musically to deceased artists such as Nick Drake and Gram Parsons, UK singer-songwriter Halstead has been a member of acclaimed bands such as Slowdive and Mojave 3, in addition to recording as a solo artist. Over the years, he has proved that he adapts well to his musical surroundings, as evidenced by the shoegazing Slowdive, the dream pop of Mojave 3, and his country rock-based solo work. Halstead got his start with Readings Slowdive, who issued three releases in the early to mid-90s before splitting up. Joined by two of his former Slowdive bandmates (singer Rachel Goswell and drummer Ian McCutcheon), Halstead then co-founded the more traditional alt rock band Mojave 3. Shortly after the release of Mojave 3s third offering, 2000sExcuses For Travellers, Halstead found himself homeless after breaking up with his girlfriend, and was forced to reside in the bands rehearsal...
