Biography

Ron Braunstein, 7 June 1976, Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA. Self-proclaimed as ‘the most brutal rapper on the planet’, Necro creates ‘violent music for a violent world’ that, perhaps unsurprisingly, is released on his own label Psycho+Logical-Records. Thus, his ‘The Most Sadistic’ (from his 2000 debut I Need Drugs) characteristically advised ‘I’ll rape your fucking wife until my dick is soft/’Til the flesh is peeling off’, while ‘Bury You With Satan’ (from the 2001 follow-up Gory Days) recounted acts of bludgeoning, hanging, dismemberment and stabbing. Necro combines a love for classic hip-hop from artists such as Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap and Rakim with a fascination for the death metal of Slayer and Megadeth, and this latter obsession reached an apex of sorts on 2004’s The Pre-Fix For Death, which featured collaborations with members of Nuclear Assault, Obituary and Slipknot.
