From Bradford, Yorkshire, England, My Dying Bride proffer an intriguing blend of full-blooded doom metal, with more poise than most and a rare experimental streak. Vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe’s (12 November 1968, Germany) lyrics also depart somewhat from the herd - although he often concerns himself with biblical and religious matters, his stance is neither that of Christian or Satanist: ‘The Bible is a fantastic story...There’s no heaven or hell as far as I’m concerned, it’s just a nice story and I like to write about it because it affects so many people’s lives.’ Stainthorpe formed the band in 1990 with Adrian Jackson (b. 12 June 1970; bass), Andrew Craighan (b. 18 July 1970), Calvin Robertshaw (guitar) and Rick Miah (drums).
