Morris Albert Kaisermann, 1951, Brazil. Although Albert was born in Brazil, most listeners to his one and only hit assumed that he was French. The musically gifted Morris wrote "Feelings", a slow ballad in the romantic style of Sacha Distel and Julio Iglesias that became a major worldwide hit in 1975, reaching number 4 in the UK charts. The song was later used as the theme music to an Italian tragi-romantic film. The subsequent album found similar success, but afterwards his career faded into anonymity. A decade after the song was first released, Albert found himself losing a case of plagiarism. It was established that the now notorious "Feelings" was taken from "Pour Toi", by French composer Louis Gaste. Not only did Morris lose the case, but he parted with £250,000 as a settlement. He is still actively performing in Brazil, but is reluctant to release new songs. ...
