Biography
This Dominican Republic duo comprises Ramon E. Rijo (19 September 1977) and Alexandra Cabrera de la Cruz (b. 19 October 1978). Rijo studied music formally, in particular piano, guitar and singing, and first sang professionally as a member of a group performing bachata. He and his record producers, Martires De Leon and Victor Reyes, decided to pursue his career as a duo and discovered Cabrera who auditioned while she was still a university student. The duo enjoyed immediate success and their records, singles and albums, sold very well, receiving nominations for Billboard Latin Music awards and for Latin Grammy awards. In 2003 they won Billboard awards for Confesiones and ‘Te Quiero Igual Que Ayer’ and in 2007 won Premios Lo Nuestro awards for Éxitos Y Más and ‘No Es Una Novela’.
