Biography
Born Mirah Yom Tov Zeitlyn, Mirah came of age amidst the fervent Pacific Northwest indie rock scene, specifically finding a kindred spirit in Phil Elverum of the Microphones and Mt. Eerie. In 2000, she released her rough-hewn, self-recorded debut, YOU THINK ITS LIKE THIS BUT ITS REALLY LIKE THIS. Over the course of the ensuing decade, she would incorporate a wider range of sounds and textures into follow-ups such as ADVISORY COMMITTEE, and seek out experimental, multimedia collaborations with musicians and artists like Spectratone International and Britta Johnson. She also approved a 2006 LP of dance remixes by peers from the Blow and Mt. Eerie, and rounded out a prolific 10-year span with 2009s (A)SPERA.
