Sean Mims, 21 March 1981, Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA. This New York-based rapper began working the music scene in his late teens, spending several years on the sidelines before enjoying major crossover success in 2007 with his chart-topping ‘This Is Why I’m Hot’.

Raised in the Washington Heights district of Manhattan, Mims fell in love with rap music at an early age. Despite being a diligent student, by the time he began college he was already committed to making music. His passion became his life, as he spent hours recording music on his own basic home studio equipment. One of these tracks, ‘I Did You Wrong’, was released on vinyl in 2003 and became a local hit. The rapper then set up his own American King Music imprint, and carried on recording and releasing his music via independent means.
