Biography

c.1974, Dawson Springs, Kentucky, USA. As a child, Mason was surrounded by a showbusiness atmosphere; her mother, Diane Mason, performed in Las Vegas and elsewhere as a singer. She began writing songs while still very young. At the age of 15 she occasionally performed at her mother's shows, and two years later she moved to Nashville, Tennessee. There, she sang demos and jingles while seeking to have someone take an interest in her songs. In the mid-90s, she secured a two-album deal with Atlantic Records but despite having minor country hits with "That's Enough Of That", "Dark Horse" and "Closer To Heaven', she was dissatisfied with the way her career was going and left the label after the release of 1998"s Strong One. She resumed songwriting, which she did for a few years, in between marrying Jason Grainger, her second husband, extending her family with a third child, and appearing on albums by other artists, including Ty Herndon and Mindy McCready.
