Biography

1949, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA. Metheny began playing trumpet at an early age, studying music formally at the University of Missouri/Columbia and Northeast Missouri State University. During military service in the early 70s, he played trumpet in the US Army Field Band in Washington DC.
