Biography
27 October 1958, Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, France. Katché is a drummer whose discreet style is especially respected by fellow musicians, many of whom have benefited from his subtle and supportive accompaniment. He attracted considerable attention worldwide in the mid-80s through his playing on Peter Gabriels classic album So, and soon thereafter awareness of his talent was extended through his appearances on tour with Sting. Katché has recorded as a soloist for the BMG and ECM Records labels. On 2005s Neighbourhood he was accompanied by trio members Marcin Wasilewski (piano) and Slawomir Kurkiewicz (bass) as well as guests saxophonist Jan Garbarek and trumpeter Tomasz Stanko.
