Biography
Amanda Carol Barnett, 28 September 1975, Crossville, Tennessee, USA. Barnett grew up as part of a musical family, and performed at Dolly Partons Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, at the age of 10. Barnetts initial promise threatened to stall when she quickly ran through no less than four major label contracts. The first two were development deals with Universal (who she signed to at the age of 13) then Liberty Records (where she recorded several demos with Gail Davies). She made a name for herself starring in Always... Patsy Cline at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville (an attendant soundtrack album was released by MCA). She began recording her debut album for Asylum Records while still appearing in the show, which ended its 18-month run in October 1995.
