Biography
Based in Newark, New Jersey, USA, Lords Of The Underground came to prominence via tours with Cypress Hill and Funkdoobiest, with whom their music shares more than a passing acquaintance. The group first met at college where all the band members were majoring in radio communication. The frontmen are Doitall and Mr Funke (aka Mr Funky). The former also has acting interests, taking his first role in the film The School Game. They are backed by their DJ, Lord Jazz. Doitall and Mr Funke were originally solo artists, collaborating for the first time on a cut called Psycho. Flow On was eventually issued as a single, remixed by Pete Rock, while the debut collection was produced by Marley Marl. They have also been responsible for fostering the career of Rated R.
