Although often classified as an alt rock band, this Swedish quartet refuse to be tied down to a single style, as they have been know to juxtapose a punk track with a soothing one that sounds straight out of the Jeff Buckley songbook. Originating from Stockholm, Sweden, Last Days Of April was formed in 1997 by Karl Larsson (vocals/guitar), Lars Taberman (guitar), Daniel Svenfors (bass), and Andreas Fornell (drums). The quartet debuted with ‘Henrik’ and, Last Days Of April, both issued in extremely limited quantities. Signing with a proper indie label with larger distribution a year later, Bad Taste, the band followed up these early releases with Rainmaker, Angel Youth, and Ascend To The Stars. The latter two were the first Last Days Of April releases to be licensed in Australia, Japan and the USA, and saw the quartet softening their sound with additional layers of strings and horns.
