Last Crack, from Wisconsin, USA, specialized in schizophrenic acid-metal, a truly unique aural experience that revelled in the desecration of musical boundaries from thrash to blues, then back through funk, psychedelia and rock n roll. Lead vocalist Buddo Buddo conveyed a mixture of gut-wrenching passion, flamboyance and deranged eccentricity in his caterwauling (his other claim to fame being his penchant for posing naked at photo sessions). The backbeat was equally unpredictable, with guitarists Pablo Schuter and Don Bakken switching and blending styles with consummate ease. Phil Buerstate (drums) and Todd Winger (bass) provided the necessary power in the rhythm section. The latter was replaced by Dave Truehardt in 1990.
