Koushik Ghosh, Dundas, Ontario, Canada. Koushik was born with music in his blood, his mother being a classical Indian singer. Joining her from the age of five at singing lessons, Koushik’s later vocal style, with its airy, mumbled manner, bears no memory of this classical training. Originally a DJ, Koushik worked for various radio stations including a brief stint at the BBC, learning the skill at just eight years old sneaking down to the basement where his older brother kept his decks. Obsessed with listening to music he developed his own unique style and in 2002 Four Tet released their first EP on the Text Records label. He went on to sign with influential hip-hop label Stones Thrown Records, releasing three EPs that were later compiled on the 2005 collection Be With.
