This female R&B group from Los Angeles, California, USA was formed in 1979 by and Bernadette Cooper (drums/vocals), Lorena Porter (vocals), Cheryl Cooley (guitar), Lynn Malsby (keyboards), Robbin Grider (keyboards) and Joyce ‘Fenderella’ Irby (bass/vocals). They teamed up with new writing/production team Jimmy Jam And Terry Lewis on their debut for the Solar label, 1981’s Girls Will Be Girls. This passable collection of modern R&B failed to make much of an impact, a fate that also befell the much-improved follow-up Never Underestimate The Power Of A Woman. The group switched to the MCA imprint Constellation Records for their third album, Meeting In The Ladies Room, and scored their breakthrough US hit with the Top 3 single ‘I Miss You’.
