Biography
Based in New Orleans, Louisiana, this US heavy metal band was formed in 2005 by Kirk Windstein (guitar/vocals) of Crowbar and Jamey Jasta (James Shanahan, 7 August 1978, West Haven, Connecticut, USA; vocals) of Hatebreed, as a means of releasing more sludgecore-orientated material than their respective main bands. Their self-titled debut album was completed over the course of two years during down time from Crowbar and Hatebreed, with session players Steve Gibb (guitar), Matthew Brunson (bass) and Derek Kerswill (drums) joining producer Zeuss B. Held as the duo’s musical accomplices. The album mixed metalcore and stoner rock elements to solid if limited effect, adding little of any note to the protagonists’ work with their main bands.
