Biography
30 December 1963, Starkville, Mississippi, USA. Raised in Memphis, Tennessee, from the age of 11, Hill is best known as a Christian singer, although she did spend a while singing country music. She first attracted attention in the late 80s and early 90s and her 1993 album Brave Heart was nominated for a Grammy Award as Best Christian Rock Album. From the mid-90s, she spent a decade performing and speaking at Christian and womens conferences, often before huge audiences. A change of pace came with 2006s acclaimed Broken Things, an album that was rooted in rock. Hill has written several songs, usually in collaboration, such as Wide, co-written with Margaret Becker, and most notably for Broken Things.
