Amarillo, Texas, USA. Guitarist and singer-songwriter Kevin Fowler began his musical career playing in rock bands before launching a solo career as a honky-tonk country artist, in the process returning to the style of music he had first fallen in love with as a youngster. Growing up in West Texas, he dabbled with the drums and piano before settling on the guitar as his chosen instrument. He studied the guitar in Los Angeles before relocating to Austin, Texas, where he played with the hard rock outfit Dangerous Toys in the latter days of their career. Fowler then spent a brief period pursuing a southern rock style with his own band Thunderfoot before realising that he wanted to return to his country roots. By the late 90s, Fowler and his new band were beginning to make waves on the Austin bar circuit with their rousing update on the honky-tonk style. His self-released debut, Beer, Bait And Ammo, was a big local hit, with Texans taking the sentiments of the title...
