12 June 1977, Shreveport, Louisiana, USA. A classically-styled blues rock guitarist, Shepherd recorded his debut album for Revolution Records in 1995 with the aid of singer Corey Sterling. Extracted from the album, "Déjà Voodoo' became a hit on mainstream rock radio and reached an audience beyond blues purists, though they too were impressed with the guitarist's skill - the album stayed at the top of Billboard"s Blues chart for 20 weeks. As a result, Shepherd was able to play dates with his heroes, B.B. King and Buddy Guy. Later he toured with celebrated rock guitarists including Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. By April 1997 and his second collection, Sterling had been replaced by fellow blues aficionado Noah Hunt. Shepherd again wrote all the lyrics, though this time his record label paired him with Talking Heads' alumni Jerry Harrison as producer.
