Biography

13 September 1974, Central Islip, New York City, New York, USA. This US rapper made an immediate impact in 1994 after teaming up with producer Erick Sermon for the smooth Top 50 hit single, ‘The Most Beautifullest Thing In This World’. His long-playing debut for Jive Records followed later in the year. As well as his trademark tongue-twisting delivery, a throwback to old-school hip-hop which won him many fans, many critics were impressed by the similar dexterity employed in his writing style. However, despite good early press and sales, its final turnover figure of just over 300, 000 was a major disappointment both to the artist and his record label. Despite this, Murray continued to enjoy a high media-profile by appearing on a Coca-Cola advertisement and guesting on remixes of Mary J. Blige’s ‘Be Happy’, Total’s ‘Can’t You See’ and LL Cool J.’s ‘I Shot Ya’.
