Biography
Kandi Burruss, 17 May 1976, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Burruss and her partner, producer Kevin Shekspere Briggs, established themselves as one of Americas leading urban songwriting teams with two contemporary classics, No Scrubs (TLC) and Bills, Bills, Bills (Destinys Child), both of which topped the US singles chart in 1999. Burruss first came to national attention as a member of the platinum-selling vocal quartet, Xscape. She featured as lead on the groups 1992 debut, Just Kickin It, and co-wrote two of their early hits Feel So Good and Cant Hang. By the release of the groups third album in 1998, Burruss was feeling increasingly frustrated at the restrictions placed on her songwriting contributions and elected to pursue a solo career with her new partner Briggs.
