Biography
10 August 1962, Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. Formerly one of Mari Wilsons backing vocalists, the Wilsations, Fordham embarked on a solo career in 1986 as the archetypal angst-woman of the 80s. She achieved an initial UK chart hit with the Top 30 Happy Ever After (which also reached number 1 in Japan) in 1988, and a self-titled debut album and the follow-up both reached the UK Top 20. However, her biggest success came with the non-original (Love Moves In) Mysterious Ways, which reached number 19 in February 1992. These releases, and the subsequent Swept, all on the Circa label, established the singer with a thirtysomething audience, enabling her to perform headlining dates at venues such as Londons Royal Albert Hall.
