Drama and expansive arrangements introduced his 1993 debut album, and in particular the US Top 10 hit ballad, Jessie. Rod Argent produced the album. Though immediately successful, the approach taken for the follow-up collection, Delilah Blue, was radically different. Shunning synthesizers in favour of live instruments, and moving songs away from introspection to what the artist described as other people as seen through my eyes, it opened with the quasi-religious Listen To The Lambs/The Gospel According To My Ol Man. As if to confirm this change of direction, Kadisons image changed from one of long blonde hair and denim to a close-crop and goatee beard.
