Biography

Glen Ridge, New Jersey, USA. Brion is a man of many talents, having worked as a pop artist, session musician, soundtrack composer and producer, although it is in the latter two categories that he has established the highest profile.

Raised by musical parents, his mother a jazz singer and his father a band director at Yale, Brion abandoned education at an early age to pursue a career in music. Equally adept on guitar, drums and keyboards, he recorded an album with the Bats (1982’s How Pop Can You Get?) and then formed the short-lived World’s Fair. In the late 80s Brion joined ’Til Tuesday as a touring musician. His personal relationship with ’Til Tuesday lead singer Aimee Mann led to his first production job, on her 1993 solo debut Whatever.
