Biography
22 May 1967, Gainesville, Florida, USA. A bit of a vagabond (he has lived in Florida, Maryland, Boston, Los Angeles, and even London, before settling down in his current home-town, San Francisco), indie rock singer-songwriter Vanderslice first appeared on the music scene as a member of the alt prog outfit mk Ultra. This San Francisco-based band issued three albums during an on/off career, 1994s Mk Ultra, 1996s Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, and 1999s The Dream Is Over. It was also during his stay with mk Ultra that Vanderslice opened his own local recording studio, Tiny Telephone, located in the Mission district of San Francisco, where he recorded the majority of his albums. Launching a solo career around the time of mk Ultras third release, Vanderslices solo debut, Mass Suicide Occult Figurines, appeared the same year.
