Biography

Co-founder of 70s R&B-influenced boogie band Wet Willie, Hall recorded his solo debut following the group’s break-up in 1980. With backing from former bandmates, including brother Jack Hall, the album featured the hit single ‘I’m Happy That Love Has Found You’. The follow-up was a musically diverse album, blending rockabilly, swing and bebop, but was to be Hall’s last for Epic Records. He worked with Richard ‘Dickey’ Betts (Allman Brothers Band) and Chuck Leavell in BHLT, but it was for his featured vocals on Jeff Beck’s Flash that Hall received greatest praise, gaining a Grammy nomination for Best Male Vocalist. During the 90s Hall has toured with his band the Prisoners Of Love, and worked as band leader and vocalist, saxophonist and harmonica player for Hank Williams Jnr.
