She is, however, better known for her Tony Award -winning role in the musical Dreamgirls, a thinly disguised adaptation of the Supremes story, which former member Mary Wilson took as the title of her autobiography. The shows undoubted highlight was Hollidays heart-stopping rendition of And I Am Telling You Im Not Going, one of souls most emotional, passionate performances. The singles success in 1982 prompted Hollidays solo career, but subsequent work was overshadowed by that first hit. She returned to the stage in 1985 in Sing, Mahalia Sing and acted in the television series The Love Boat.
