Biography

22 August 1979, McAlpin, Florida, USA. Day emphasises her catholic taste in music with Mariah Carey, Madonna and Motown Records cited as influences. She also has a fondness for Patsy Cline and as a teenager, she recorded ‘Crazy’ on a demo cassette. Day’s grandmother ran a poker school and one player was the aunt of an RCA Records executive. She forwarded the tape to her nephew and during 1997, Day graduated, got married, moved to Nashville and was signed to the RCA subsidiary, BNA. ‘The Fun Of Your Love’, a song she wrote with Beth Nielsen-Chapman and Annie Roboff, became the title song of her first album. It was also used on the soundtrack of the baseball movie, For Love Of The Game. Another track, ‘Completely’, later appeared on the soundtrack of Where The Heart Is.
