Newburgh, New York, USA. This gravel voiced singer-songwriters releases have earned comparisons to alt country poster boy Ryan Adams, although Kleins warped take on Americana delves into far deeper obsessions than the work of the former Whiskeytown leader. Klein grew up in New Jersey and played in local bands as a teenager before attending the prestigious Berklee School Of Music. Rebelling against the schools structured learning programme he ducked out of his course to join Bostons thriving indie circuit. He formed the Herb McKinney Project with whom he recorded the self-released CD, Made In Place. Following the dissolution of the Herb McKinney Project in 1997, Klein launched his solo career with the six-track CD Put Your Weight On It. He relocated to Austin, Texas, to record his long-playing debut Youll Never Get To Heaven If You Break My Heart.
