Biography
4 March 1971, Gilmer, Texas, USA. Before releasing his debut album in 1997, country singer-songwriter Jason Sellers spent several years touring the western and central regions of America. His musical apprenticeship came as a member of the Sellers Family, a country gospel group for whom he played bass and sang. Performing over 250 shows a year, the family groups popularity was centred on their home state of Texas, as well as Louisiana and Oklahoma. At this time he also married fellow singer Lee Ann Womack. He had performed his first solo show in Mountain View, Arkansas at the age of 17. By the time he was 19, he had moved to Nashville. On arrival he contacted up-and-coming country star Vince Gill. Sellers persuaded Gill to allow him to play back-up bass for his band whenever his regular bass player was unavailable.
