13 June 1978, Houston, Texas, USA. This US contemporary country singer was raised in North Carolina by devout parents who would not allow him to listen to any secular music as a youngster. After leaving home Carroll was able to broaden his musical education, and he soon discovered he had a talent for singing. He performed at open mic slots while working during the day in a garage, spending brief spells with the country bands Chasin’ Country and Steel Kickin’ in the late 90s and early 00s.

By the mid-00s, Carroll’s classic good looks and pleasing country pop vocals were beginning to attract attention in the music industry, and after teaming up with former Hootie And The Blowfish producer Don Gehman he decamped to Nashville to peddle his demo material around the record labels.
