Biography
2 June 1968, Los Angeles, California, USA. Before making his solo debut as the multi-instrumentalist and singer behind 1996s Presents Author Unknown, Falkner had released records with three other groups. As a teenager he had answered a magazine advert to become guitarist with the cult 60s revivalists the Three OClock, contributing to their 1988 Vermillion set for Princes Paisley Park label. He subsequently joined Jellyfish for 1990s critically acclaimed Bellybutton. Then, as the result of impromptu jamming sessions, Falkner became a member of the Grays, alongside Jon Brion, Dan McCarroll and Buddy Judge. Formed by accident, the band quickly became the subject of a minor bidding war amongst record labels, but their sole album Ro Sham Bo proved a disappointment.
