Starting out as MCA Records answer to the teenage R&B boy band boom, US trio Immature belied both these inauspicious beginnings and their own choice of moniker by prospering as a commercial act in the 90s. Comprising lead singer Marques Houston (4 August 1981, Los Angeles, California, USA), Jerome Romeo Jones (b. 25 October 1981) and Kelton LDB Kessee (b. 22 January 1981), they became regulars on the pages of the American teen press from their inception in the late 80s. Following a 1992 debut for Virgin Records, they moved to MCA and enjoyed encouraging commercial success in 1994 with Never Lie, a number 5 hit on Billboards R&B chart. The attendant album, We Got It, peaked at number 14 in the equivalent album chart, and sold close to half a million copies.
