Biography

Formed in Los Angeles, California, USA, in 1983, this heavy metal band’s original line-up comprised Kelly Hansen (vocals), Robert Sarzo (guitar), Tony Cavazo (bass) and Jay Schellen (drums). Robert Sarzo is the brother of Whitesnake bass player Rudy Sarzo and Tony Cavazo is the brother of Quiet Riot guitarist Carlos Cavazo. Hurricane arrived via a mini-album released in 1986, entitled Take What You Want, on Roadrunner Records. It was a fine debut, featuring hard-edged melodic rockers. The band then switched labels, signing to Enigma Records and releasing Over The Edge. It failed to sell and during 1989 Robert Sarzo left the band to be replaced by ex-Lion guitarist Doug Aldrich. This line-up went on to record the much improved Slave To The Thrill, released in 1990 to critical acclaim.
