Dayton, Ohio, USA-based emo-pop band formed by JT Woodruff (vocals/guitar), Casey Calvert (USA, d. 24 November 2007, Washington, DC, USA; guitar), Micah Carli (guitar), Matt Ridenour (bass) and Eron Bucciarelli (drums). The original line-up of the band began to take shape in the late 90s, during which period they went by the name of A Day In The Life and released the Nine Reasons To Say Goodbye album. After adopting their unusual three-guitar line-up with the recruitment of Calvert, the quintet changed their name to Hawthorne Heights (a Nathaniel Hawthorne reference) in 2001. Two years and countless live shows later they signed a recording contract with Victory Records, who no doubt noted the similarity of the Hawthorne Heights sound to the label’s recently departed emo hopes, Thursday. The single ‘Ohio Is For Lovers’ was heavily promoted on the Internet during 2004, resulting in a Top 40 placing on the US Modern Rock charts and a growing media buzz...
