Biography
Formed in 1997 by Morbid Angels Erik Rutan (guitar/vocals), the early line-up of this St. Petersburg, Florida, USA-based death metal band included session musicians Alex Webster (bass, also Cannibal Corpse) and Tim Yeung (27 November 1978, Rochester, New York, USA; drums). Jared Anderson (b. 28 December 1975, USA, d. 14 October 2006, Ohio, USA) joined as full-time bass player before work began on the bands debut album, with ex-Suffocation guitarist Doug Cerrito also on hand to help out. Released on the Earache Records subsidiary Wicked World, 1999s Conquering The Throne was greeted as a fine addition to the brutal death metal genre and prompted Rutan to depart Morbid Angel to pursue Hate Eternal as a full-time project. With new drummer Derek Roddy (ex-Nile, Malevolent Creation) helping out, Rutan and Anderson completed the strong King Of All Kings at the start of 2002.
