Biography
In league with groups such as Helmet and Unsane, Hammerhead have helped to blur the boundaries between US heavy metal/hard rock and punk/hardcore music. Comprising Paul Erickson (bass), Jeff Mooridian Jnr. (drums) and Paul Sanders (vocals, guitar), the groups corrosive sound properties are best sampled on their 1996 album, Duh, The Big City. The latest in a series of singles and albums for the acclaimed independent label Amphetamine Reptile, it was the last release to feature departing frontman Sanders. However, it successfully distilled all of the bands most distinctive qualities - resonant feedback and sonic disharmony playing as large a part as ever in the groups musical equation.
