Biography
UK indie rock band formed in 2004 by singer-songwriter Fyfe Dangerfield (Fyfe Hutchins, 7 July 1981, Birmingham, West Midlands, England). The teenage Dangerfield had attracted press interest in the late 90s with the Birmingham-based band Senseless Prayer, but the unit only managed a solitary EP before splitting up. He subsequently worked with the Accident before relocating to London and putting together the Guillemots with Aristazabal Hawkes (b. Sointula, Malcolm Island, British Columbia, Canada; bass), Greig Stewart (percussion) and MC Lord Magrão (guitar). The quartet signed with the Fantastic Plastic label and toured with Rufus Wainwright while working on their debut album. The four-track EP I Saw Such Things In My Sleep and the mini-album From The Cliffs were released at the end of 2005 and the start of 2006 respectively, and served as ideal introductions to Dangerfields experimental muse.
