Westchester County, New York, USA. During the 90s and 00s, Peters established herself as one of America’s most valued country and pop songwriters. She was raised in New York State and then moved to Colorado as a teenager, which is where she first began writing her own songs. Winning a local radio station contest boosted her confidence and by the end of the 80s Peters had moved with her own family to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in country music. Peters was initially signed as a songwriter by the Silverline/Goldline company and gained her first song placement in 1989 when Highway 101 used ‘Paint The Town’ as the title track of their latest album. Two years later Peters gained further prominence in Nashville when George Strait took her ‘Chill Of An Early Fall’ to the top of the country charts, and in 1992 she signed a new publishing deal with Sony Tree.
