1964, Easton, Pennsylvania, USA. Howe played guitar from the age of 10 and by his late teens was playing semi-professionally at various clubs and sometimes leading his own rock band, which included his brother, Al Howe, as lead singer. He made his record debut for Shrapnel Records in 1988, leading a trio with bass player Billy Sheehan and drummer Atma Anur. The album attracted attention and boosted awareness and engagements. Playing an intriguing mix of ‘shred guitar’ hard rock, jazz, funk, and other contemporary pop sounds, Howe’s subsequent albums all did well and he gained a good national following. His audience base widened considerably in 1996 when he toured internationally with Michael Jackson’s HIStory, backed Enrique Iglesias on tours through Europe and the USA in the new millennium, and followed this with a 2002 tour with *NSYNC, and in 2003 with Justin Timberlake.
