Biography
12 December 1947, Skegness, Lincolnshire, England. Bonnet first garnered attention in 1968 as one half of the Marbles, who enjoyed a UK Top 5 hit with the emotional Only One Woman. Subsequent singles, both with the group and as a solo act, proved unsuccessful and he later turned to acting, starring in the film Three For All. Bonnet resumed recording in 1977 on Ringo Starrs Ring O Records, but although Graham Bonnet was not a major seller in Britain, the album achieved gold status in Australia. In 1979 Bonnet replaced Ronnie James Dio in Ritchie Blackmores Rainbow. With his almost James Dean-like image, the choice of Bonnet as Dios replacement was the subject of some consternation amongst the bands more traditional heavy metal fans.
