Biography

Comprising Nikolai Naskov (vocals), Alex Belov (guitar), Jan Janewkow (guitar), Alexander Minkov (bass) and Sascha Lvov (drums), Russian hard rock band Gorky Park formed in the late 80s. They rose to international prominence at the 1989 Moscow Music And Peace Festival, where they shared a stage with Mötley Crüe, Bon Jovi and Ozzy Osbourne. Those artists were sufficiently impressed by Gorky Park's powerful stage show to spread news of them to the west, eventually resulting in a US release for their self-titled 1989 album. However, once the novelty of a Russian hard rock band had worn off, Gorky Park faced critical and commercial resistance to their unspectacular hard rock presentation.
