Biography
A proficient Norwegian black metal band, Gorgoroth was formed in 1992 and took their name from J.R.R. Tolkiens book The Lord Of The Rings. Although personnel changes have been frequent, the core of the band has always been the guitarist Infernus, with expert assistance from various players on the ever-overlapping black metal scene. Samoth of Emperor played bass on the bands 1994 debut, Pentagram. The other musicians were drummer Goat and the oddly named vocalist Hat. The follow-up Antichrist was recorded by Infernus, Hat, new singer Pest, and Satyricon drummer Frost (Kjetil Haraldstad). Aeturnus bass player Ares, Pest, and the late Borknagar drummer Grim (b. Erik Brodreskift, 23 December 1969, Norway, d. 4 October 1999) featured on 1997s Under The Sign Of Hell.
