Biography
This US band was formed while the members were at college in 1964 by Peppi and Mickey Marchello, both from Long Island, New York, USA. Their 1969 debut was a mixture of rock n roll and progressive rock. A succession of poor-selling albums coupled with regular changes of record labels hampered their commercial prospects. They broke up for three years during 1969-72. By the time of their fourth and best album, 1978s From Rats To Riches (which was later issued on Radar in the UK), the line-up was the gruff-voiced Peppi, Mickey (guitar), John the Cat Gatto (guitar), Lenny Kotke (bass) and Joe Franco (drums). This album was recorded on Long Island in late 1977 with Flo And Eddie (Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan) producing.
