Biography
Gloria Jean Goff, 12 December 1946, New York City, New York, USA. Born to musical parents, Loring sang in church and at school and first attracted wider attention when, in her early teens, she sang with Those Four, a folk pop group. At 18 she sang at New Yorks Playboy Club, was heard on radio and quickly broke into television, appearing on many top-rated network shows. She was also seen in the theatre and on the concert platform, touring across the USA. In addition to singing, Loring also appeared in acting roles and began writing songs, usually in collaboration. Her acting career included a spell of more than six years on Days Of Our Lives from 1980, on which she also sang. She also hosted the television series, From The Heart. On stage, Loring has appeared in shows such as Blame It On The Movies, Queen Of The Soaps, Stardust, Music Minus One and in the winter of 1999/2000 a touring revival of Cole Porters Anything Goes.
