Biography
A nu metal band discovered by the producer Ross Robinson (who had acted as midwife to the genre in the mid-90s), Glassjaw was formed by Daryl Palumbo (10 February 1979, Bellmore, Long Island, New York, USA; vocals), Kris Baldwin (guitar), Todd Weinstock (b. 5 November 1978, Queens, New York City, New York, USA; guitar/vocals), Ariel Telford (bass) and Justin Beck (b. 17 December 1979, Long Island, New York, USA; drums). Long Island residents Palumbo and Beck took their first steps towards music making in 1995. The singer, who was afflicted with the intestinal disorder Crohns disease, wrote lyrics that reflected a certain obvious angst and fitted well with the enraged riffs created by Beck (who switched from drums and bass to guitar). A rounded sound developed and the band was soon demoing and playing live.
