Biography
This quartet from Boston, Massachusetts, USA, specializing in a fusion of hardcore and thrash, was put together by guitarist/vocalist Chris Doherty. Although originally formed in 1982 by Doherty, Mike Dean and Bill Manley, it was a completely different 1985 incarnation that secured a contract with Taang! Records (Doherty had spent some of the intervening period with Jerrys Kids). After numerous line-up changes, a degree of stability was achieved for You Got It, with Doherty, plus Brian Betzger (drums), Fritz Erickson (guitar; replacing Chuck Stilphen), and Joe Gittleman (bass), the latter eventually replaced by ex-D.R.I. member Josh Pappe. Extolling the virtues of alcohol and skateboarding, and ridiculing the P.M.R.C. at every opportunity, their music was fast, aggressive and occasionally abusive.
