Biography

Brooklyn, New York rap trio who comprise Poc Fu (Prophet Overseeing Creativity), Chip Fu (Creative Harmony:Intertwine Perfection) and Moc (Manifest Culture) Fu. Not content with wearing ludicrous Oriental costumes, the band also claim to have descended on the world of rap via a mythical fireball. The Fu part of their names and the band’s moniker indicates ‘For Unity’, while ‘Schnickens’ is a wholly invented term signifying ‘coalition’. Raised in East Flatbush in Brooklyn, the trio was discovered at the Carwash club, a specialist showcase event. Soon after Phil Pabon took over their affairs as manager, and began to set up dates for the group all over New York. They finally earned their break with an appearance in February 1991 at the 1st Annual Rap Conference, at Howard’s University in Washington DC.
