Biography
This highly promising quintet was based in Berkeley, California, USA in the late 60s. They completed an album for Fantasy Records that was never issued and consequently, their sole recorded legacy lies in a privately pressed EP. The group - Jimmy Warner (solo guitar/vocals), David Denny (5 February 1948, Berkeley, California, USA; lead guitar/vocals), Bob Winkelman (rhythm guitar/vocals), Ross Vallory (b. 2 February 1949, San Francisco, California, USA; bass/vocals) and Jackson King (drums/vocals) - were highly accomplished musicians and the opening track, Hearts To Cry, offered some exciting, de rigueur, acid-rock. Denny was later replaced by George Tickner, but the band subsequently folded in the face of corporate disinterest. Winkelman, Warner, King and Vallory all appeared at various times as members of the Steve Miller Band. Vallory then found greater success with Tickner as members of Journey.
